I love books. One week ago Toothfairy wrote an interesting and funny post about books. I laughed when Toothfairy told, that pink bubblegum drama is not for her and Harry Potter is not her cup of tea. Harry Potter and pink bubblegum drama is not for me either, but I'm happy if my book cover is pink;)
Toothfairy asked: What is your book genre?
I have read almost anything, but my favorites are classic books in what ever genre. I love writers like Charles Dickens, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Hermann Hesse, Mikhail Bulgakov and so on.
The Master and Margarita (Мастер и Маргарита) is a famous novel by Mikhail Bulgakov (Михаил Булгаков), who was a Soviet Russian novelist. The genre of The Master and Margarita is satire, which is near fantasy. I usually love fantasy but hate it in books. I love pink stuff but I don't like to read pink bubblegum drama. But quality pink drama or romance is totally another story. Those who love pink or write a pink blog or a fashion blog can love serious literature. Some people think that we don't have brains:D
I mostly love to read realistic books. The Master and Margarita is even more than realism, much harder than realism but still sensitive and pink. The Master and Margarita is split into three different stories. There are events in Moscow, including the adventures of satanic visitors, events concerning the crucifixion of Yeshua Ha-Notsri or Jesus Christ, in first-century Yershalaim, and the love story of the Master and Margarita.
I have The Master and Margarita book, a Finnish translation on my bookshelf. I have read The Master and Margarita only in Finnish. The Finnish translation is called "Saatana saapuu Moskovaan" (Satan arrives to Moscow). This name is very descriptive. I hope that I some day could read Мастер и Маргарита in Russian.
The Master and Margarita is a different book each time it is opened. The Times of London has called The Master and Margarita one of the masterpieces of the 20th century. For me The Master and Margarita is an important book. I love serious humor.
What is your favorite book or genre?

it has been a few years ever since I studied "Advanced Children' literature" in my education class, I loved biographies a lot, used to read "Helen Keller", "Edison", "Benjamin Frankly"...
I read almost everything realistic, yes, not much fiction....
You seem very knowledgeable about Russian literature, good for you,
Books are wings in our creative thinking.
Beautiful post,
Delightful spirit.
Love your favorite authors!
My fave genre right now is nonfiction... Got Outliers for Christmas!
xoxox,
CC
It sounds a very interesting book!
I love the classics too and was never into chick lit until about a year ago. Fun stuff. ;)
Thank you, Jingle!
Many biographies would be interesting, but I don't have time to read those often.
My fiction is often more realistic than realism.
I know something about Russian literature but I need to learn more. The country is not important for me, but the book is.
Books really are wings in our creative thinking. That's so true.
Jingle: More... Though I love Russia in many ways but I also love many other countries:)
Thank you, CC!
You are a highly educated and so lovely smart woman. It's not surprise for me that you read a lot.
I also read nonfiction. I found facts about "Outliers". It seems to be an interesting book... And it's bestseller. I am very interested in exceptional people, psychology and sociology.
Hugs♥
Thank you, Meraldia!
I believe that you would find something new and interesting, if you read The Master and Margarita.
I know that you love many classic things... And I know that you read quality books:)
Thank you, Shop N' Chomp!
It was nice to hear that you love the classics too:)
Also Chick lit can be good literature. I somehow appreciate every genre and every book. I know that even Harry Potter must be quality, because almost everyone loves it. And every book is somehow useful. And sometimes we girls just wanna have fun:D
Dear friend!
This pink book look very pretty :D
I love readings books too.
My favorite books are both entertaining and profound books.
Romantic,Biblia and little naugty books :)and many more book too.
Olen pahoillani siittä mitä sinun ja äidin välillä kävi:(
Kauniita unia ja haleja!
realism is my favorite. I love novels that tell stories about ordinary, everyday people's ordinary, everyday lives.
however, The Master and Margarita is one of my favorites, too.
have a sweet day, darling.
xoxo
Thank you for your interesting comment, Susan!
Ordinary people and ordinary life is the most interesting thing. If we are honest to ourselves, we know that we all are ordinary even if we have special gifts.
It was nice to hear, that The Master and Margarita is your favorite too.
Have a lovely new day, my dear friend!
Thank you for the feedback.
Learning about literature in one culture is one thing, learning about its country as a member of the world community is another,
Book lovers care the later less in general, I guess...
Enjoy A Pink Book Day.
Thank you Kata, my dear friend!
I have noticed that you read profound books. You have a lot of profound thoughts. I think that it's important to read all kinds of books like you do.
Hugs!
Jingle: Books and society is often the same, but I understand what you mean.
I think that if you don't understand the culture, you don't understand the country or it as a member of the world community.
I am interested in everything, but some people don't read a book, if it comes from some country, which they don't like.
The book is more important for me than the country, but I am also interested in country. There are no bad and good ones... no bad country or good country and so on. I maybe should read Harry Potter, because I guess that it's not a bad book, even if I don't like that genre so much:)
It's possible that book lovers care the country less in general:)
Have a lovely day and thank you for your interesting thoughts!
